Here she is in the rockstar outfit we mentioned early on in the blog. We've noticed that the longing cries of our baby are well assuaged through singing and music. And to ensure consistency, I(Dave) wanted to make sure she understood the ramifications of wearing such an outfit and gave her a taste of some electric guitar.

I went to wake Tracy for Annalise's feeding, and I found daughter like mother. You have to look close, but both are sleeping with their left arms up by their heads, both turned to the right. Cute

A baby is born.

We are pleased to announce the birth of Annalise Joy (Yun Kay) Fung. She was born via unplanned C-section at 10:36pm on Tuesday, Jan 20, 2009 after 13 hours of labor. She was born weighing 7 lbs 6 ounces and measuring 19" in length.

All praise and glory go to God, who formed this little one and now has blessed us with her healthy and safe arrival.

Where is she?

Today is a special day, the due date for our little girl, Jan. 19th. However, apparently she didn't listen to our doctor when the due date was announced because she doesn't seem ready to show herself just yet. Here is a picture of me today - on our due date. I'll see the doctor again tomorrow. Hopefully we'll have good, exciting news for all of you one of these days. For now all we have to offer is more pictures of me getting larger. I'm curious to see what the pregnancy ticker at the top of our blog says tomorrow for days to go. Will it go into the negatives?

40 weeks - Our due date is today!

How big?

So today we had another appointment and, alas, no progress in the dilation effacement front. Our doctor didn't look too hopeful for her coming before her due date. It looks like we might be in for a wait.

We had a little bit of interesting news. Baby Girl Fung is measuring quite large. The accuracy of this information is a little doubtful to me since it is based on a tape measure held over my belly. Nevertheless, these are not words that a 5' tall person wants to hear from her doctor. Apparently the risk of needing a C-section is slightly elevated due to her size and my size. We'll have to keep waiting and see what happens.

Here below you see a picture of my belly. We have put a voting chart next to this post, so we are going to see what size you all think she'll be. Winners get a fabulous prize . . . the self-satisfaction of knowing you guessed correctly. [Dave note: Or how about her first diaper?]. We have already entered our guesses . . . Tracy - 8-9 pounds, Dave - 6-7 pounds.

39 weeks...

We have decided on a name . . .

. . . and we're not going to tell! You will have to wait a week to two weeks (hopefully not longer) to find out. A couple hints - it's really beautiful, we both like it (which is nothing short of a miracle), it's 3 syllables and it has a great short name. It's not very common, but not very unusual or unknown either. Have I sparked your curiosity?

In the quest for a name, I discovered a really fun website, http://babynamegenie.com/baby-middle-names/, where you can put in a last name and first name and the baby name genie will come up with middle names for you. It can also suggest first names based on your last name. If you keep clicking, it will come up with more (you can keep going through hundreds of names looking for one you like). It's hours of entertainment, really.

If you want to make sure you're on the email as soon as baby arrives list, send us an email indicating the email where you'd like to receive the notification. If you're someone we email periodically or regularly, then you're on the list, don't worry.

Anticipation....

At T's 38 week appt, the doc said she's 60% effaced and 2 cm dilated, which is very exciting! The implication is that things are readying for baby day, whether it be weeks or hours from now. (Tracy note - yes, we know that women can walk around dilated for a long time - but a little dilated is better than not at all -which was what they said last week).
